Earl and Susan Walls reopened Central Missouri Speedway (CMS) in 2014 and have owned the speedway for 30 years. CMS Weekly racing takes place on Saturday nights from April to September in four divisions: 'Mighty' Modifieds, Street Stocks, B-Mods, and Pure Stocks. 1 visiting class. Admissions information is as follows: Adult General Admission $15, Active-Duty Military, Senior Citizens ages 65 to 74, and Students with Student I.D. $12. Kids ages 6 to 12 years $6, Children ages 5 and under and Senior Citizens aged 75 years and older are free in the grandstands. Those permanently confined to a wheelchair are free in the grandstands. ALL pit passes regardless of age or status are $35. The timeline for Saturday is as follows: The Pit Gate opens at 4:30, Admission Gates at 5. The cutoff for drivers to check-in for racing is 6:15 (late check-ins will not earn passing points). The pit meeting takes place at 6:30, followed by practice “hot” laps at 7, with racing to follow at approximately 7:30.

My primary goals are 1) to find more ways for community members to be better informed about their local city government and 2) to encourage more people to become involved with the City to help make a positive difference for our community. Everyone is always welcome at City Council meetings! We meet on the 2nd and typically the 4th Mondays of each month at 7:00 PM, in the Warrensburg Municipal Building, just south of City Hall; these meetings are also available by Zoom (see the meeting agenda for the link) and viewable afterward on the City of Warrensburg's YouTube channel.

I am interested in learning more about community businesses and their needs for professional writers. An internship opportunity is a key component of the Technical Writing program. The internship takes place each Spring semester in my senior Capstone course and is meant to pair students with a 'real-world' professional writing experience. My hope would be to match students with interested community businesses who are looking to partner on writing projects; such as, grant writing, employee manuals or handbooks, instruction guides, quick-start guides, content for brochures and/or marketing pieces, and so on.

Through the THRIVE Program, the University of Central Missouri prepares students with disabilities to transition to independent living and find employment that fits their individual goals and abilities. During the two-year progam, students are required to live on the UCM campus. They work on improving their academic abilities and peer interactions while learning computer and job skills. They also participate in career-focused internships. THRIVE graduates earn a Certificate of Success along with a personal portfolio.
